NZALT Conferences: Travel Grants for Teachers Got a yen to attend the NZALT Conference in Queenstown this year from 4-7 July, but not enough yen for the travel? The Sasakawa Fellowship Fund for Japanese Language Education is granting $8,000 to the organisers of the Japanese section of the NZALT Conference, to assist with travel costs of Japanese language teachers at all levels. Here's how it works: You get yourself to Queenstown. Make your travel bookings as soon as possible to take advantage of the cheaper fares available through the internet. Proof of travel will not be required, so you’ll be eligible for the same amount whether you hitchhike or take your private jet. At the end of Conference, a cheque will be presented to you, the amount depending on a combination of factors. The following are estimates based on assumptions about how many teachers will come and from which regions. They will be finalised closer to the time, as we gain a better idea from pre-registrations, how many teachers are coming and from where:
If you need more information than what is provided here, please contact Naomi Collins. NOTE: TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS GRANT, WE MUST RECEIVE YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION AND A LETTER FROM YOUR SCHOOL (SEE APPLICATION FORM BELOW FOR DETAILS) BY 11 JUNE 2010. THIS ENABLES US TO CALCULATE AMOUNTS AND PREPARE CHEQUES. Please join us in Queenstown for what will be an outstanding conference.
